Terms of Use

Last updated: 19 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and me about using Amyra. I have written them in plain language on purpose — if a term is not clear, it should not bind you.

1. Who you are dealing with

Amyra is made and operated by Laurentiu Theofanus, an individual trader based in Cyprus.

Postal address: Solomontos Fragkulidi 1, Kaimakli, 1025 Nicosia, Cyprus
Email: laurtheofanus@gmail.com

I answer support and privacy requests at that email myself. There is no company behind Amyra — it is one person.

2. What Amyra is

Amyra is a self-help tool for couples, informed by relationship therapy. It is intended to help two people who feel safe with each other connect day to day and find their way back after conflict.

3. What Amyra is not

Amyra is not therapy, not counselling, not medical or mental-health treatment, and not a crisis or emergency service. Using it does not create a therapist–client relationship with me or anyone else, and it is not a substitute for professional help. If you are struggling, please speak to a qualified professional.

4. Safety

Amyra is built for relationships where both partners feel safe. If you feel afraid, controlled, coerced, or unsafe, Amyra is not the right tool for your situation — and that is not your fault. Please see Help & Safety. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

5. You must be 18 or older

Amyra is for adults. You must be at least 18 to use it, and by using it you confirm that you are.

6. The AI reflection

After a repair, in Our Cycle, and in the yearly keepsake, Amyra can offer a short reflection that is written by artificial intelligence (Google's Gemini), not by a person and not by a therapist. What is sent has names removed. You are always told when you are reading one.

It may be imperfect, incomplete, or simply wrong. It is not professional advice, and no decision about your relationship, your health or your safety should rest on it. Use your own judgement, and your own people.

7. Using Amyra respectfully

Please do not use Amyra to harass, threaten, coerce or harm another person, to impersonate someone, or for anything unlawful. If Amyra is used that way I may suspend the account, and where someone is at risk I may be legally required to act.

8. Paying for Amyra

Amyra is free to try. To keep using it there is one payment, once, for both of you together — not a subscription. Nothing renews and nothing runs out.

All payments go through Google Play. Who you are buying from depends on where you live:

Either way, the app itself is my responsibility — sections 9 to 11 below are my commitments to you, wherever you live.

If you cannot get a refund through Google Play and you believe you are entitled to one, write to me and I will deal with it directly.

9. Your words, and keeping them safe

What you and your partner write is the whole point of Amyra, so here is exactly what I do to protect it, in plain terms:

What I promise if something is lost. If your content is lost or damaged because of a fault on my side, I will try to restore it from backup, and I will tell you honestly what happened and what I could and could not recover. If I cannot restore it and you have paid, you may ask for a full refund of what you paid and I will give it, regardless of how long ago you bought it.

I cannot promise that data can never be lost. No service can. What I can promise is the care described above, an honest answer, and your money back if I have failed you.

10. What I promise, and what I cannot

I promise to provide Amyra with reasonable care and skill, to describe it honestly, and to fix faults that are mine to fix within a reasonable time.

I cannot promise that Amyra will always be available and uninterrupted, that it will be free of every fault, or that it will work with every device. Parts of Amyra depend on services I do not control — Google Play, Firebase, Gemini, and your phone's notifications — and those can fail or change.

I make no promise at all about outcomes. Amyra cannot repair a relationship, and nothing here is a prediction about yours.

Nothing in this section takes away rights the law gives you as a consumer. If your country gives you a right to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund for digital content that does not work as described, you keep that right in full.

11. Responsibility if something goes wrong

Some responsibilities cannot be limited by any agreement, and I do not try to limit them. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits my liability for:

Beyond those, and only to the extent the law allows: I am responsible for loss that is a reasonably foreseeable result of my breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. I am not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, for loss caused by something genuinely outside my control, or for decisions you make about your relationship or your life.

Where my liability can lawfully be capped, it is capped at the greater of the amount you paid for Amyra or €50.

12. If you are unhappy

Please write to me first at laurtheofanus@gmail.com. I read every message myself and I will reply. Most things can be put right quickly.

If you are not satisfied, you keep every right you have under the law of the country you live in, including the right to complain to your national consumer authority. Using these terms never costs you that.

13. Changes

Amyra will change over time — features may be added, altered or withdrawn. If I change these terms in a way that materially affects you, I will show a notice in the app before the change applies to you, and the date at the top of this page will change. If you do not accept a change, you may stop using Amyra and delete your data.

14. Ending it

You can stop using Amyra whenever you like and delete your data from inside the app. I may suspend an account that is being used to harm someone or to break these terms.

15. Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of Cyprus. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU or the UK, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your own country, and you may bring proceedings in your own country's courts.
